PART-TIME VOC REHAB LOCUM REQUIRED: APRIL/MAY 2017 TO NOVEMBER 2017
(with the possibility of employment in a voc rehab/medicolegal post in 2018)
An OT locum opportunity exists in Lee Randall’s practice in the north east of Johannesburg, while she completes PhD studies. This will be on an independent contractor basis, with variable and flexitime work hours. Starting date negotiable but ideally April/May 2017.
Applicants should have 3-5 years of professional experience including conducting of FCEs (Workwell or similar training will be an advantage), hold a vocational rehabilitation qualification, possess good observational skills and clinical reasoning abilities, have excellent report-writing ability (in English) and good computer proficiency, and have a driver’s licence and own vehicle. Must have current HPCSA registration and hold malpractice/professional indemnity insurance. Membership of OTASA and INSTOPP is recommended but not essential.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised and efficient, able to work without direct supervision and set up own timetable. Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with other members of the multidisciplinary team, as well as confidence in relation to work visits and meetings with employers. Must have a strong sense of ethics and a working knowledge of relevant labour legislation (EEA, BCEA, LRA) and disability insurance concepts. Some involvement in practice marketing and administration will be required, and case discussion meetings will be scheduled as necessary.
