A paediatric Occupational Therapist is required in a private school based
practice in Port Elizabeth (Starting date in January 2018)
The growing practice is located in two well-known schools in Port Elizabeth.
The ethos and inherent values of the practice are to provide a high standard
of holistic and effective treatment to the client. This is done by providing
therapy to individual learners with a range of learning disabilities; whilst
also providing support to teachers and ongoing treatment through classroom
modification and parent education. The practice will provide the suitable
candidate with therapy resources, a ready client base and report, treatment
and client detail templates.
The suitable candidate should have an impeccable standard of integrity, be
responsible and self-disciplined. The suitable candidate should be
self-motivated and willing to work beyond what is expected; in order to help
grow the practice and uphold the high therapy standard, as well as
understand and embrace the values of the practice. The candidate should be
able to work independently yet be open to guidance and mentorship.
The job will entail the following:
. One year contract position – with the option of extension,
. A caseload of between 18 – 25 learners with room for growth,
. Between 20 – 25 working hours per week
The suitable candidate should have:
. A knowledge of learning disabilities and an interest in NDT and
sensory integration therapy,
. Excellent report writing skills,
. Excellent inter – personal skills with children, teachers and
. An ability to run parent and teacher workshops
. Good administrative capabilities
. An openness to possibly work shadow during the months of October or
